Bathroom Remodeling for Smaller Spaces

Many homeowners want a beautiful and inviting looking bathroom oasis. Not all homeowners are sure they can achieve their dream bathroom with the limited amount of space in their home. Luckily there are many tips and tricks out there to get the most of your bathroom space while creating the appearance of a more open space. When it comes to bathroom remodeling for smaller spaces, here are some things you need to know.

tub replacement

A doorless tub creates a more open space

Doorless shower

Create the illusional of an open, and bigger space with a doorless shower. Install a curtain rod with your favorite curtains. Pull back the curtains and create the appearance of a bigger space.

  • PROS: Doorless showers also tend to be less expensive, require less maintenance since you won’t be cleaning glass and more customizable, as you can change the shower curtains to match your decor.

  • CONS: The downside of shower curtains is making sure the curtains stay clean and free from mold and mildew. More likely to get water splashing outside of the shower.

Corner shower enclosure frees up space in your bathroom

Corner Enclosure Shower

A corner enclosure, or neo-angle shower is great way free up space in your bathroom. This is a free-standing shower that is made to fit into the corner of the room. Whether you have an existing tub or shower, we can replace it with a corner enclosure shower. By freeing up space, you may have enough room to fit in additional bathtub in your bathroom if you choose.

  • PROS: Gives your bathroom a modern look. Actually opens up your bathroom to create a bigger space. Makes your bathroom look roomier, less boxy and creates a focal point. May open up the space enough to install a bathtub.

  • CONS: Smaller area to shower in. When installing a shower, you give up the ability to take baths.

Replacing your tub with a walk-in shower

Replacing your bathtub with a walk-in shower helps create a more open and inviting space. Removing a tub and replacing it with a walk-in shower gets rid of the ledge of the tub, which often makes bathrooms look smaller and more restricted.

  • PROS:  Illusional of a bigger, more inviting space. Capability of adding in corner seating for easy accessibility. Great solution for aging people or handicap people as they no longer have to step over the ledge of the tub.

  • CONS: Unable to take baths without a tub.
tub to shower conversion

Replacing your tub with a walk-ins shower gives the illusion of a wider, more open space with the tub out of the way.
